The 1st house lord is unique because it rules both a Kendra and a Trikona, so its connection with any other Kendra or Trikona lord automatically forms Raj Yoga. The strongest version is Dharma-Karma Adhipati Yoga: the 9th lord (highest Trikona, dharma) connecting with the 10th lord (highest Kendra, karma). For each Lagna, the specific Raj Yoga combinations differ because different planets rule the Kendra and Trikona houses. Not all Raj Yogas are equal — a planet that rules both a Kendra and a Dusthana (like the 7th lord who also rules a Maraka house) forms a weaker Raj Yoga than a pure Trikona lord.
